You may have heard that we have been experiencing some car troubles lately. Let's just say that being stranded on the shoulder of I-15 in Ogden is an, um, "interesting" experience, shall we say? And, just so you know, Enterprise Car Rental will pick you up on the side of the freeway.
Long story short - our timing belt broke and we assumed that our little car was dead. Brad decided to take the project on and see if he could possibly fix it. It wasn't running anyway so what damage could he do, right? So two full Saturday's of pulling the car apart, replacing the belts, putting it back together, and one week of the car parked on the street jacked up and missing a wheel later - a miracle occured and the car runs! Maybe even a little better than it was before.
So hooray and props to Brad for fixing the car for about $200 instead of the $2,000 the repair guy had told us. We also decided to go ahead and buy the Hyundai Tuscon from my parents that we were going to buy to replace the Elantra. It's a fun little mini-SUV with a sun-roof and 6-CD changer, lots of fun and I love it! What can we say - we really like those Hyundai's!
